Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the 49ers were there to profit. Malachi Fields, the No. 72 name on the board, should have been long gone before slot 92.

Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The cost of the Bisontis reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
