The board owed the Texans one, and it paid up: Tahj Brooks, the No. 199 name on the board, sitting there at Round 7, Pick 20 like a gift left on the doorstep. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. Trading back for volume was the quiet throughline of their weekend.

A fair-value weekend of trading, no edge to be found.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
