Allen should have been long gone. The Texans pounced, and earned a B.

The Texans did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and LeQuint Allen fell into pick No. 166. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

They came away with juice, if not much beef up front. Trading back for volume was the quiet throughline of their weekend.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
