Draft Grade — Texans

FutureB-
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Texans and Hunter: B. This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Jarquez Hunter, the No. 188 name on the board, stolen at pick 236. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Tyler Warren
In pick No. 25 they get a matchup weapon at tight end at a price that makes it sweeter. A real need, handled.
Pick58
Rnd2
Donovan Jackson
Donovan Jackson in pick 58 is fair value, right on his grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick79
Rnd3
Elic Ayomanor
Elic Ayomanor at No. 79 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick89
Rnd3
Ozzy Trapilo
Ozzy Trapilo in Round 3, Pick 25 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick166
Rnd5
Kyle Williams
They took Kyle Williams at par in the 166th pick, which is nothing to complain about. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick236
Rnd7
Jarquez Hunter
Jarquez Hunter at the Round 7 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick241
Rnd7
Kobe Hudson
Taking Kobe Hudson in the 241st overall pick is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
