Draft Grade — Texans
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureB-
The Texans robbed the room for Ulofoshio. Final grade: B+.

Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Edefuan Ulofoshio got past him. The Texans do not have to explain a thing at No. 247. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B+.

They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. They will need Milton III to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through wide receiver. Adding Elijah Moore by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick54 Rnd2 Payton Wilson
A quiet steal in the 54th pick: Payton Wilson for less than the market said. It fills a real need, too.
Pick59 Rnd2 Cooper Beebe
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Cooper Beebe. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick85 Rnd3 Austin Booker
The board had Austin Booker higher than pick No. 85, and the edge rusher fell to them anyway. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick86 Rnd3 Cade Stover
Cade Stover in the 86th overall pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick123 Rnd4 Mekhi Wingo
Mekhi Wingo at No. 123 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick127 Rnd4 Christian Jones
Christian Jones at Round 4, Pick 27 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick188 Rnd6 McKinnley Jackson
Circle this one: McKinnley Jackson at the Round 6 slot is a fall that decides a draft. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick189 Rnd6 Joe Milton III
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Joe Milton III. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick238 Rnd7 Kendall Milton
A straight-up fair deal on Kendall Milton at the 238th pick, value and slot in agreement. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick247 Rnd7 Edefuan Ulofoshio
They robbed the room for Edefuan Ulofoshio here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
