Draft Grade — Falcons
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
A passer of the future in Maye, and a B-, for the Falcons.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Falcons spent their marquee pick on Drake Maye, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.

Every board in the league had Harrell lower, and that gap is the story. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through wide receiver.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick8 Rnd1 Drake Maye
In the 8th pick they get a passer to set the clock by. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick43 Rnd2 Bralen Trice
Nothing to complain about; Bralen Trice went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick74 Rnd3 Mike Sainristil
No edge and no loss on Mike Sainristil in slot 74; it is a wash and a sensible one. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick110 Rnd4 Dominick Puni
Fair-plus on Dominick Puni, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick142 Rnd5 Jaylen Harrell
Jaylen Harrell in the 142nd overall pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick189 Rnd6 JD Bertrand
JD Bertrand in pick 189 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick201 Rnd6 Kenny Logan Jr.
They jumped the gun on Kenny Logan Jr., taking him earlier than his grade liked. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick241 Rnd7 Chad Lindberg
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Chad Lindberg. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
