Draft Grade — Bears
Overall C-
ValueB- NeedB- TradesC FutureF
A mixed bag for the Bears, and a C- to match.

There is a lot to like until you notice edge rusher is still a hole. The Bears never got to the one that mattered most. A mixed bag that lands at C-.

That is a running back worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. Reaching for Powers-Johnson left real value on the table behind him.

They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring. A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one.

Bottom line, the swing picks will decide whether this ages well.

Pick Analysis
Pick2 Rnd1 Marvin Harrison Jr.
In Round 1, Pick 2 they get a weapon on the perimeter. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick9 Rnd1 Olumuyiwa Fashanu
In No. 9 they get a plug-and-play piece up front at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick36 Rnd2 Jackson Powers-Johnson
A conviction pick on Jackson Powers-Johnson at slot 36 that the board grades a round light. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick75 Rnd3 Malachi Corley
No drama and no debate, Malachi Corley went about where he belonged in the 75th overall pick. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick111 Rnd4 Isaiah Adams
They paid up for Isaiah Adams at pick No. 111 when waiting would have done the job. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick123 Rnd4 Ray Davis
Ray Davis at the Round 4 slot is money in the bank, a running back taken below his worth. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick138 Rnd5 James Williams
Fair-plus on James Williams, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick143 Rnd5 Cedric Gray
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Cedric Gray at the 143rd pick is the proof. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick220 Rnd6 Brevyn Spann-Ford
They jumped the gun on Brevyn Spann-Ford, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A minor need, but a need all the same.
