Draft Grade — Bears
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Bears found their guy under center in Maye: B-.

The Bears spent the pick that matters most on Drake Maye, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Joe Alt
In pick 1 they get a long-term starter on the line. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick4 Rnd1 Drake Maye
In the Round 1 slot they get their quarterback of the future at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick68 Rnd3 Jonathon Brooks
Value with a capital V on Jonathon Brooks in the 68th pick, a genuine coup. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick104 Rnd4 Tory Horton
Tory Horton at slot 104 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick132 Rnd4 Roman Wilson
A tidy bit of business in No. 132, where Roman Wilson graded well above the range. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick141 Rnd5 Ricky Pearsall
Ricky Pearsall in pick No. 141 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick182 Rnd6 Will Shipley
Will Shipley at Round 6, Pick 7 is money in the bank, a running back taken below his worth. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick225 Rnd7 Jacob Cowing
Jacob Cowing at the 225th overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
