Draft Grade — Lions

FutureD+
The Lions lost the trade table, and the F tells the story. The trade table was where it all came apart. The Lions shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. About as rough as the board gets, and a F to prove it.
The running back hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Wingo has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Landing Watts that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.
In short, a weekend the front office will want to forget in a hurry.
Pick Analysis
Pick29
Rnd1
Jackson Powers-Johnson
In the 29th overall pick they get a plug-and-play piece up front. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick32
Rnd1
Darius Robinson
In Round 1, Pick 32 they get a premier pass rusher at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick55
Rnd2
Xavier Legette
A tidy little value on Xavier Legette in pick No. 55, a step better than break-even. The roster fit checks out.
Pick61
Rnd2
Mike Sainristil
The board had Mike Sainristil higher than pick 61, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick64
Rnd2
Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe in No. 64 is fair value, right on his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick87
Rnd3
Andru Phillips
A slide stopped in slot 87, with Andru Phillips worth more than the price. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick88
Rnd3
Mekhi Wingo
They jumped the gun on Mekhi Wingo, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick113
Rnd4
Spencer Rattler
Spencer Rattler at the 113th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick201
Rnd6
Dominique Hampton
Dominique Hampton in the 201st overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick205
Rnd6
Jaylan Ford
A premium they did not need to pay, Jaylan Ford a notch or two before his time. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick249
Rnd7
Ryan Watts
Nice patience on Ryan Watts, who had no business lasting to Round 7, Pick 29. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
