The 49ers spent real capital to be 39 picks early on Xavier Truss, and the board is going to hold them to it. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. Getting Edwards where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
