Larceny in the 112th overall pick lands the Patriots a B, Weeks and all.

You could see the war room lean forward. Whit Weeks at the 112th pick is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.

Every board in the league had Payton lower, and that gap is the story. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
