Nobody had Zion Tupuola-Fetui this high, and it is not close. The Patriots reached 30 spots to get him at pick No. 139.

So much rides on Drake Maye that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. The Stover pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with safety and tight end still on the board.

That safety hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Smith-Wade.

The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.
