Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall

FutureC+
The Steelers checked most of the boxes and earned a B. For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Steelers walked out of the weekend still thin at edge rusher, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
The Moore steal is the beam this whole class leans on. Milroe has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. On the needs board they went 6 of 9, with quarterback the one that mattered most.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick30
Rnd1
Derrick Harmon
In the Round 1 slot they get a disruptive interior force. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick62
Rnd2
TreVeyon Henderson
A tidy little value on TreVeyon Henderson in Round 2, Pick 30, a step better than break-even. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick83
Rnd3
Jalen Milroe
They liked Jalen Milroe enough to skip the value, taking him in the 83rd pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick115
Rnd4
Denzel Burke
No drama and no debate, Denzel Burke went about where he belonged in the 115th overall pick. The roster fit checks out.
Pick156
Rnd5
Malachi Moore
They read the board right and Malachi Moore was the payoff at slot 156. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick180
Rnd6
Dont'e Thornton Jr.
They paid sticker price for Dont'e Thornton Jr. in pick 180, and that is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
