Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B
ValueB- NeedA- TradesB- FutureB-
Ward is the plan now, and the Browns grade out a B.

After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Browns committed. Cam Ward is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline.

Williams at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Oladejo has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

That tight end hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick2 Rnd1 Cam Ward
In No. 2 they get the face of the franchise. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick33 Rnd2 Nick Emmanwori
Nick Emmanwori at slot 33 is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. The roster fit checks out.
Pick67 Rnd3 Ozzy Trapilo
A premium they did not need to pay, Ozzy Trapilo a notch or two before his time. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick94 Rnd3 Devin Neal
A quiet steal in the 94th overall pick: Devin Neal for less than the market said. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick104 Rnd4 Oluwafemi Oladejo
A real head-scratcher, Oluwafemi Oladejo in pick 104 is miles ahead of his ranking. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick179 Rnd6 Logan Brown
Somehow Logan Brown was still sitting there in Round 6, Pick 3, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick192 Rnd6 JJ Pegues
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and JJ Pegues at the Round 6 slot is the proof. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick200 Rnd6 Quincy Riley
Circle this one: Quincy Riley at pick No. 200 is a fall that decides a draft. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick216 Rnd6 Kyle Williams
You do not let a wide receiver like Kyle Williams reach Round 6, Pick 40 and blink. They did not. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick255 Rnd7 Ricky White III
They barely believed it either: Ricky White III still on the board at the 255th overall pick. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
