A sensible, unshowy class lands the Browns a B.

The Browns did not so much draft Tyler Batty as overpay for him, 45 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend.

The cornerback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Getting Trapilo where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. Job largely done: quarterback settled and 5 of 9 of the wish list covered.

The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.

Jalen Royals at pick 67 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.

Tyler Batty at slot 192 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.

Tyler Cooper in the 200th overall pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
