The Titans fleeced the room on the phones and earned a C+. You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Titans did exactly that with Luke McCaffrey in the 107th pick. Some smart calls, some head-scratchers, and a C+ in the wash.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through offensive lineman. The veteran additions, Patrick Queen chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.
It grades out a shrug today, with plenty of room to move either way.
Pick Analysis
Pick7
Rnd1
Cooper DeJean
In the 7th overall pick they get an island corner. More want than need.
Pick38
Rnd2
Kamren Kinchens
Kamren Kinchens at Round 2, Pick 6 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the safety. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick107
Rnd4
Luke McCaffrey
Luke McCaffrey at pick No. 107 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. The roster fit checks out.
Pick225
Rnd7
Jase McClellan
Jase McClellan in No. 225 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
