FutureB-
Nobody dealt better than the Titans this weekend: B+. Nobody had Will Howard this high, and it is not close. The Titans reached 135 spots to get him at the 144th overall pick. The bottom line is a respectable B+.
That is a safety worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped offensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick23
Rnd1
Tre Harris
In No. 23 they get a go-to option on the outside, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick37
Rnd2
Denzel Burke
Denzel Burke at Round 2, Pick 5 is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick54
Rnd2
Kenneth Grant
They went early on Kenneth Grant in pick No. 54, and the value did not follow. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick106
Rnd4
Kamari Ramsey
Taking Kamari Ramsey in the Round 4 slot is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick144
Rnd5
Will Howard
Will Howard at the 144th pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
