You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Bears did exactly that with Braelon Allen in Round 4, Pick 11. A weekend to file away and forget, and an F to match.

The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. The Bullard pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.

There is no soft landing here; this class has to massively overperform just to matter.
