The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Bears reached some 43 spots for Eric Gentry, and value like that does not grow back. They moved the roster forward and banked a B+ for it.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. Jones at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. On the needs board they went 8 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
