Chickenchocker DRAFTING FOR THEPatriots
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Patriots
Overall
B
ValueB-

TradesB-
FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Patriots: B. The Patriots torched the value chart for Joe Milton III, taking him 25 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick Analysis
Pick3
Rnd1
Malik Nabers
In the 3rd overall pick they get a go-to option on the outside. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick34
Rnd2
Tyler Guyton
A straight-up fair deal on Tyler Guyton at Round 2, Pick 2, value and slot in agreement. The roster fit checks out.
Pick68
Rnd3
Christian Haynes
A premium they did not need to pay, Christian Haynes a notch or two before his time. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick103
Rnd4
Blake Fisher
Nothing to complain about; Blake Fisher went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick139
Rnd5
Joe Milton III
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Joe Milton III. It fills a real need, too.
