Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall D-
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesF FutureC+
The Seahawks let Leonard fall and pounced. Final grade: D-.

Nobody had Nazir Stackhouse this high, and it is not close. The Seahawks reached 65 spots to get him at Round 4, Pick 33. A D- that will need time and luck to look better.

On value alone, Leonard makes the weekend a net positive. Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere.

They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.

Pick Analysis
Pick14 Rnd1 Mykel Williams
By-the-book stuff, Mykel Williams at pick No. 14 squarely in line with his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick33 Rnd2 Tyler Booker
They paid sticker price for Tyler Booker in the Round 2 slot, and that is fine. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick45 Rnd2 Jonah Savaiinaea
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jonah Savaiinaea. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick50 Rnd2 Jaxson Dart
Jaxson Dart at the 50th pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick65 Rnd3 Tre Harris
A quiet steal in No. 65: Tre Harris for less than the market said. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick67 Rnd3 Jake Majors
Jake Majors at slot 67 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick82 Rnd3 Cam Skattebo
Cam Skattebo at the 82nd overall pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick104 Rnd4 Malachi Moore
Malachi Moore at Round 4, Pick 3 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick134 Rnd4 Nazir Stackhouse
They talked themselves into Nazir Stackhouse at pick 134, and the board did not agree. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick137 Rnd4 Tez Johnson
Steal is underselling it; Tez Johnson at the 137th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick155 Rnd5 Jabbar Muhammad
Jabbar Muhammad at the Round 5 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick173 Rnd5 Oronde Gadsden II
Oronde Gadsden II at pick No. 173 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick187 Rnd6 Riley Leonard
The board fumbled Riley Leonard all the way to Round 6, Pick 9, and they scooped it up. It fills a real need, too.
Pick212 Rnd6 Karene Reid
Taking Karene Reid in slot 212 is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick236 Rnd7 Seth McLaughlin
A straight-up fair deal on Seth McLaughlin at the Round 7 slot, value and slot in agreement. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
