Draft Grade — Colts
Overall D
ValueB- NeedB TradesF FutureD
A costly weekend of dealing drags the Colts to a D.

The rest of the league had time to spare on Trevin Wallace; the Colts did not wait, grabbing him 43 spots ahead at the 193rd pick.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They banked enough surplus on Jones to cover a lot of smaller sins.

Spend now, pay later; the math only works if this class delivers.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, quarterback very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick22 Rnd1 Quinyon Mitchell
In slot 22 they get an island corner at fair value. Need was not the driver here.
Pick27 Rnd1 Brian Thomas Jr.
In Round 1, Pick 27 they get a No. 1 receiver. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick46 Rnd2 T'Vondre Sweat
T'Vondre Sweat in the 46th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick66 Rnd3 Marshawn Kneeland
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Marshawn Kneeland. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick82 Rnd3 Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe in pick 82 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick97 Rnd3 Mohamed Kamara
They reached into another round for Mohamed Kamara, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick118 Rnd4 Ben Sinnott
Ben Sinnott at the 118th overall pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick150 Rnd5 Kitan Oladapo
No edge and no loss on Kitan Oladapo in pick 150; it is a wash and a sensible one. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick170 Rnd5 Jarrian Jones
Taking Jarrian Jones in Round 5, Pick 34 is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick171 Rnd5 Jared Wiley
Jared Wiley at the Round 5 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick193 Rnd6 Trevin Wallace
A big swing on Trevin Wallace at slot 193, well ahead of any board in the building. The roster fit checks out.
Pick232 Rnd7 Edefuan Ulofoshio
Edefuan Ulofoshio in No. 232 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
