The board owed the Steelers one, and it paid up: Nick Emmanwori, the No. 20 name on the board, sitting there at slot 63 like a gift left on the doorstep. No fireworks, but a solid B+.

The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. They will need Taylor to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. With quarterback, edge rusher and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on offensive lineman is the choice that costs them.

They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
