Draft Grade — Buccaneers

FutureB-
The Buccaneers let Alexander fall into their laps, and walked away with a B+. You build a draft on nights like this. Deuce Alexander had no business being available in the 104th pick, and the Buccaneers did the only sane thing and turned in the card. More right than wrong, and a B+ to match.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick Analysis
Pick11
Rnd1
Cayden Green
In the 11th pick they get protection for the quarterback. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick26
Rnd1
Leonard Moore
In Round 1, Pick 26 they get a press-man option on the boundary, and a steal at that. A real need, handled.
Pick35
Rnd2
Trey'Dez Green
They read the board right and Trey'Dez Green was the payoff at the Round 2 slot. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick68
Rnd3
Kade Pieper
The board fumbled Kade Pieper all the way to slot 68, and they scooped it up. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick92
Rnd3
Devan Thompkins
Devan Thompkins in the 92nd overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick104
Rnd4
Deuce Alexander
Deuce Alexander in No. 104 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick116
Rnd4
Shadre Hurst
Shadre Hurst in pick No. 116 is fair value, right on his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick141
Rnd5
Raylen Wilson
They will replay Raylen Wilson at pick 141 for years; that is how good the value is. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick142
Rnd5
Luke Reynolds
Luke Reynolds at pick 142 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick181
Rnd6
Jayden Virgin-Morgan
By-the-book stuff, Jayden Virgin-Morgan at the Round 6 slot squarely in line with his ranking. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Pick224
Rnd7
Braelin Moore
Somehow Braelin Moore was still sitting there in the 224th pick, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
