The Raiders let McCarthy fall into their laps, and walked away with a B+.

The trade table was a mismatch, and the Raiders were on the right end of it, hauling in a fortune in surplus value. They moved the roster forward and banked a B+ for it.

For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. Landing McCarthy that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

Reaching for Owens left real value on the table behind him. The Tyler Higbee pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Value with a capital V on Graham Barton in slot 36, a genuine coup. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.

They jumped the gun on Braden Fiske, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A need, and now a little less of one.
