The Steelers checked most of the boxes and earned a B-.

There is conviction, and then there is this. The Steelers took Xavier Truss a full 79 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.

They banked enough surplus on Hampton to cover a lot of smaller sins. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Job largely done: interior defensive lineman settled and 5 of 9 of the wish list covered.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
