You can draft well and still miss the point. The Lions did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to cornerback, which was the need that mattered most.

Every board in the league had Fano lower, and that gap is the story. Job largely done: offensive lineman settled and 3 of 9 of the wish list covered.
