Draft Grade — Jets
Overall C+
ValueB- NeedB TradesC FutureB-
The jury is out on the Jets. For now, C+.

The Jordan Travis pick is the one that will follow the Jets into the fall. They took him 38 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. Fine in stretches, shaky in others: a C+.

That cornerback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Proctor falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.

Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

It nets out as a middle-of-the-pack haul that neither helps nor hurts much.

Pick Analysis
Pick22 Rnd1 Taliese Fuaga
In pick 22 they get a plug-and-play piece up front at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick60 Rnd2 Ja'Lynn Polk
Ja'Lynn Polk in Round 2, Pick 28 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It fills a real need, too.
Pick72 Rnd3 Cade Stover
Cade Stover at the 72nd overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick111 Rnd4 Maason Smith
Maason Smith at No. 111 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick128 Rnd4 Trevor Keegan
Trevor Keegan at the Round 4 slot is a conviction pick that outran the value. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick135 Rnd4 Jordan Travis
They talked themselves into Jordan Travis at pick No. 135, and the board did not agree. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick185 Rnd6 Ty'Ron Hopper
A clean, defensible pick in Round 6, Pick 10 with a little surplus value in Ty'Ron Hopper. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick256 Rnd7 Josh Proctor
A tidy bit of business in pick 256, where Josh Proctor graded well above the range. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick257 Rnd7 Miyan Williams
They did well to land Miyan Williams in the Round 7 slot, just ahead of his grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
