Draft Grade — Buccaneers
Overall B+
ValueA- NeedB TradesA FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Buccaneers for Williams: B+.

Call it larceny. Savion Williams sat on the board until Round 4, Pick 18, and the Buccaneers did not need to be asked twice. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B+.

The Pegues reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. For all the activity, cornerback went untouched, which is hard to explain.

A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly. The roster is better shaped than it was, with interior defensive lineman chief among the fixes.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the cornerback spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick37 Rnd2 Derrick Harmon
Derrick Harmon in the 37th pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick40 Rnd2 Tyler Warren
The board fumbled Tyler Warren all the way to the 40th overall pick, and they scooped it up. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick41 Rnd2 Nick Emmanwori
Taking Nick Emmanwori in No. 41 is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick84 Rnd3 Ozzy Trapilo
Ozzy Trapilo in pick No. 84 is fair value, right on his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick103 Rnd4 Barrett Carter
Somehow Barrett Carter was still sitting there in the Round 4 slot, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick120 Rnd4 Savion Williams
Savion Williams at slot 120 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The roster fit checks out.
Pick121 Rnd4 Jamaree Caldwell
No edge and no loss on Jamaree Caldwell in Round 4, Pick 19; it is a wash and a sensible one. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick157 Rnd5 JJ Pegues
They talked themselves into JJ Pegues at pick 157, and the board did not agree. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
