Sanders should have been long gone. The Dolphins pounced, and earned a A-.

The Dolphins did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Raheim Sanders fell into the 211th pick. One of the weekend's best, top to bottom, and a A- to show for it.

They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. The veteran additions, Jermaine Eluemunor chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work. On the needs board they went 7 of 8, with quarterback the one that mattered most.

Bottom line, they did the job about as well as it can be done.
