Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Titans spent slot 229 on Tony Grimes, a name the board had a full 59 spots lower. Some smart calls, some head-scratchers, and a C in the wash.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. It is not that Hart is a bad player; it is that the Titans had louder needs to answer first.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped offensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. Getting Pearsall where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

So much rides on Kool-Aid McKinstry that the real verdict is a season or two away.
