Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Patriots spent the Round 7 slot on Drew Kendall, a name the board had a full 54 spots lower.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Harris falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 7 of 8 of the wish list covered.

So much rides on Tyler Warren that the real verdict is a season or two away.
