Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Steelers spent slot 242 on Garrett Greene, a name most had 70 spots down the list.

The Jackson value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. On the needs board they went 6 of 9, with quarterback the one that mattered most.

The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
