The board owed the 49ers one, and it paid up: Trey Amos, the No. 51 name on the board, sitting there at the 255th overall pick like a gift left on the doorstep. One of the weekend's best, top to bottom, and a A- to show for it.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

Bottom line, with Abdul Carter leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
