Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall D-
ValueB- NeedB TradesF FutureB-
The Seahawks finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a D-.

The Seahawks treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending Round 6, Pick 38 on Gee Scott Jr. a full 255 spots early.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. Jaxson Dart is the bet, and the class will be judged on how it pays off.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. The Milroe pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.

The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.

Pick Analysis
Pick32 Rnd1 Jaxson Dart
In the 32nd overall pick they get a long-term answer under center. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick50 Rnd2 Jonah Savaiinaea
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jonah Savaiinaea in the 50th pick. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick52 Rnd2 Tre Harris
Tre Harris at Round 2, Pick 20 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick55 Rnd2 TreVeyon Henderson
They paid sticker price for TreVeyon Henderson in pick 55, and that is fine. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick59 Rnd2 Azareye'h Thomas
No drama and no debate, Azareye'h Thomas went about where he belonged in No. 59. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick86 Rnd3 Demetrius Knight Jr.
Demetrius Knight Jr. in pick No. 86 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick92 Rnd3 Deone Walker
A clean, defensible pick in Round 3, Pick 28 with a little surplus value in Deone Walker. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick96 Rnd3 Gunnar Helm
Good price on Gunnar Helm in slot 96, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick125 Rnd4 Jalen Milroe
Jalen Milroe at the 125th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick137 Rnd4 Logan Brown
A reach for Logan Brown in No. 137; a little patience would have been rewarded. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick169 Rnd5 Ben Sauls
Value with a capital V on Ben Sauls in pick 169, a genuine coup. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick175 Rnd5 Kalel Mullings
The board had Kalel Mullings higher than pick No. 175, and the running back fell to them anyway. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick197 Rnd6 DJ Giddens
Circle this one: DJ Giddens at the Round 6 slot is a fall that decides a draft. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick208 Rnd6 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
You do not let a wide receiver like Dont'e Thornton Jr. reach the 208th pick and blink. They did not. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick214 Rnd6 Gee Scott Jr.
A wild overpay on Gee Scott Jr. in No. 214, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
