V DRAFTING FOR THECommanders
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall

FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Commanders: B-. Every other box got a look, but tight end did not. The Commanders will head to camp with the same hole they walked in with. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Harris. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.
Pick Analysis
Pick29
Rnd1
Omarion Hampton
In the 29th overall pick they get an every-down engine for the run game. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick61
Rnd2
Jayden Higgins
They liked Jayden Higgins enough to skip the value, taking him in pick No. 61. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick128
Rnd4
Emery Jones Jr.
A tidy little value on Emery Jones Jr. in slot 128, a step better than break-even. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick205
Rnd6
Upton Stout
Upton Stout slipping to pick 205 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick245
Rnd7
Jermari Harris
The board had Jermari Harris higher than the Round 7 slot, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
