Allar should have been long gone. The Texans pounced, and earned a B-.

The board owed the Texans one, and it paid up: Drew Allar, the No. 75 name on the board, sitting there at No. 120 like a gift left on the doorstep. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain. The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
