You can draft well and still miss the point. The Texans did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to running back, which was the need that mattered most.

They will need McLachlan to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

Good work on the whole, with running back the one box left unchecked.
