Draft Grade — Texans

Best value of the weekend goes to the Texans for Judkins: B. Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Texans were there to profit. Quinshon Judkins, the No. 75 name on the board, should have been long gone before the Round 5 slot. The bottom line is a respectable B.
The wide receiver spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Job largely done: running back settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the wide receiver spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Mason Graham
In No. 25 they get an anchor for the defensive front, and a steal at that. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick57
Rnd2
Nick Emmanwori
Nick Emmanwori in pick 57 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick89
Rnd3
Jihaad Campbell
The board fumbled Jihaad Campbell all the way to the Round 3 slot, and they scooped it up. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick126
Rnd4
Luke Kandra
Value with a capital V on Luke Kandra in the 126th overall pick, a genuine coup. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick164
Rnd5
Quinshon Judkins
Steal is underselling it; Quinshon Judkins at pick No. 164 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick241
Rnd7
Jonah Monheim
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Jonah Monheim in Round 7, Pick 27, plain and simple. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
