Draft Grade — Texans
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
Larceny in slot 88 lands the Texans a B-, Cross III and all.

This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Howard Cross III, the No. 48 name on the board, stolen at No. 88. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through running back. Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick24 Rnd1 Nic Scourton
In the 24th overall pick they get juice off the edge, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick41 Rnd2 Barrett Carter
Barrett Carter at slot 41 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The roster fit checks out.
Pick56 Rnd2 Jordan Hancock
A straight-up fair deal on Jordan Hancock at No. 56, value and slot in agreement. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick88 Rnd3 Howard Cross III
Howard Cross III in pick 88 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick120 Rnd4 Malachi Moore
A clean, defensible pick in pick No. 120 with a little surplus value in Malachi Moore. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick155 Rnd5 Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson
Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson slipping to the 155th pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick216 Rnd7 Jalon Daniels
A market-rate quarterback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jalon Daniels. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
