Draft Grade — Texans
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
The Texans robbed the room for Dart. Final grade: B-.

When a board-topper like Jaxson Dart slides to pick No. 155, you do not overthink it, and the Texans did not.

The running back hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The cost of the Gadsden II reach is exactly the players who went right after him. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most.

Good work on the whole, with running back the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick24 Rnd1 Denzel Burke
In the 24th pick they get a lockdown presence outside at fair value.
Pick41 Rnd2 Barrett Carter
They took Barrett Carter at par in the 41st overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick56 Rnd2 Mykel Williams
A slide stopped in pick 56, with Mykel Williams worth more than the price. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick88 Rnd3 Andrew Mukuba
Andrew Mukuba in No. 88 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick120 Rnd4 J.C. Davis
They robbed the room for J.C. Davis here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick155 Rnd5 Jaxson Dart
Somehow Jaxson Dart was still sitting there in pick No. 155, and they pounced on premier quarterback value. It fills a real need, too.
Pick216 Rnd7 Oronde Gadsden II
They went early on Oronde Gadsden II in slot 216, and the value did not follow. The roster fit checks out.
