Larceny in the 75th pick lands the Bears a B+, Verse and all.

The board owed the Bears one, and it paid up: Jared Verse, the No. 12 name on the board, sitting there at No. 75 like a gift left on the doorstep. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B+.

The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The Bears paired the rookies with proven help, Pat Surtain II leading the way.

They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
