Quarterback settled, Daniels in the fold, and a F for the Broncos. The phones were a trap the Broncos kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal. The warnings were there, and the F is the bill.
They have staked the next five years on Jayden Daniels, which is the only story that really matters here. The James pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at linebacker and interior defensive lineman. They will regret leaving linebacker for another day if the season turns on it.
The cost of the Mustapha reach is exactly the players who went right after him. They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.
The verdict is harsh because the weekend was, and there is little to argue.
