Draft Grade — Vikings
Overall
B
ValueB+
NeedA-
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Vikings left with their quarterback, and a B to match. They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Drake Maye is the Vikings' quarterback, full stop. No fireworks, but a solid B.
They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. The Abrams-Draine steal is the beam this whole class leans on. Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick12
Rnd1
Drake Maye
In No. 12 they get the arm they will build around at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick44
Rnd2
Kris Abrams-Draine
Kris Abrams-Draine is a better player than the 44th overall pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
