Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Commanders.

Nobody else had Teddye Buchanan anywhere near the 205th pick. The Commanders did, by 47 spots, and that gap is the whole story. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

They will regret leaving tight end for another day if the season turns on it. The Stewart pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.

They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick29 Rnd1 Shemar Stewart
Shemar Stewart at the 29th pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It fills a real need, too.
Pick61 Rnd2 TreVeyon Henderson
They did well to land TreVeyon Henderson in pick 61, just ahead of his grade. The roster fit checks out.
Pick128 Rnd4 Emery Jones Jr.
Emery Jones Jr. in Round 4, Pick 26 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick205 Rnd6 Teddye Buchanan
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Teddye Buchanan well ahead of where he belonged. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick245 Rnd7 Kyren Lacy
Kyren Lacy at the Round 7 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
