The tape said wait; the Seahawks did not. Trey Zuhn III went at pick 134, a good 72 picks before the board was ready.

Getting Sampson where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The whole projection now runs through Cam Ward; hit there and everything else looks smarter.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. For all the activity, linebacker went untouched, which is hard to explain.

It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and linebacker is still a hole.
