Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall A
ValueB+ NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureA+
Larceny in the 78th pick lands the Commanders a A, Morgan and all.

You build a draft on nights like this. Jordan Morgan had no business being available in the Round 3 slot, and the Commanders did the only sane thing and turned in the card.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. Milton has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Adding Laremy Tunsil by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.

Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Nate Wiggins and all.

Pick Analysis
Pick36 Rnd2 Nate Wiggins
A slide stopped in the 36th overall pick, with Nate Wiggins worth more than the price. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick40 Rnd2 Adonai Mitchell
Adonai Mitchell at No. 40 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick42 Rnd2 Jonathon Brooks
They took Jonathon Brooks at par in Round 2, Pick 10, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick59 Rnd2 Edgerrin Cooper
The board had Edgerrin Cooper higher than the 59th pick, and the linebacker fell to them anyway. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick67 Rnd3 Xavier Worthy
The board fumbled Xavier Worthy all the way to the Round 3 slot, and they scooped it up. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick78 Rnd3 Jordan Morgan
Steal is underselling it; Jordan Morgan at pick 78 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick100 Rnd3 Renardo Green
Renardo Green in pick No. 100 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick139 Rnd5 Javon Foster
They read the board right and Javon Foster was the payoff at slot 139. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick152 Rnd5 Brenden Rice
Circle this one: Brenden Rice at pick No. 152 is a fall that decides a draft. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick222 Rnd7 Kendall Milton
A wild overpay on Kendall Milton in the Round 7 slot, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
