McClellan should have been long gone. The Browns pounced, and earned a D. Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Browns, and the value they bled adds up to real damage.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. Landing McClellan that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.
Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 7 of 9 of the wish list covered.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, quarterback very much included.
