A costly weekend of dealing drags the Cowboys to a F.

The phones were a trap the Cowboys kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped offensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. Spending an early pick on edge rusher with offensive lineman, quarterback and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.

The cost of the Jackson Jr. reach is exactly the players who went right after him. The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.

They banked enough surplus on Love to cover a lot of smaller sins.

In the end, a class that has to defy its grades just to matter.
