When the story of this class is written, it opens with David Walker at the 64th overall pick, a reach of 109 spots that the board flatly disagrees with. It holds up to a second look, which is why it earns the A-.

So much rides on Cam Ward that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. Knight Jr. falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. That cornerback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

The Knight Jr. pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with cornerback and running back still on the board.

Bottom line, with Cam Ward leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
